The 2024 Dodge Hornet delivers hybrid performance options, cabin utilities and a roster of advanced driver-assist systems for winter adventures.
The all-new Dodge Hornet R/T debuts for the 2024 model year. It is the first-ever electrified vehicle, offering an EPA-estimated 32 miles MPG and 77 MPGe.
Dodge offers its compact SUV is in four models: GT, GT Plus, RT and RT Plus trims. Three packages are accessible on both Hornet R/T and GT.
The Blacktop Package exudes a sophisticated look through a blacked-out theme. Features include 18-inch Abyss alloy wheels, a gloss Black painted daylight opening molding and black badging with mirror caps.
A Track Pack is an upgraded bundle of 20-inch Abyss wheels, Alcantara sports seats, aluminum interior accents, red brake calipers and a dual-stage valve suspension.
Tech Pack includes Highway Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Intelligent Speed Assist, Drowsy Driver Detection, front-park sensors, ParkView 360 camera and Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist.
Under the Hood
A 2.0-liter engine drives the Dodge Hornet, generating 268 hp and 295 Ib-ft of torque.
The nine-speed automatic transmission pushes the vehicle from 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds culminating in a top speed of 140 mph.
GT models have an EPA rating of 21 mpg in city driving and 29 mpg on the highway.
R/T has a plug-in hybrid drivetrain synced to a 1.3-liter engine, 90-kW electric induction motor and a 15.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The combination delivers 288 hp and 383 Ib-ft of torque. Engineers estimate the R/T covers 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds using an on-demand PowerShot function.
The Powershot feature is activated by pulling both steering wheel paddles and applying full throttle when the system gives a signal. The function supplies a quick surge of 30 hp for 15 seconds.
Comfort and Convenience
The Dodge Hornet interior is roomy enough for five adult passengers. It offers 27 cubic feet of storage behind rear seats for extra layers of warm clothing, hiking boots and trekking poles.
Folded seats increase cargo space to 54.7 cubic feet, creating more room to travel with sleeping bags, camp stoves, small tents and compact space heaters for a cozy winter camping trip. Hornet GT/RT standard seats combine cloth and leatherette upholstery. GT Plus and RT Plus have leather seats.
A best-in-class standard 12.3-inch digital cockpit cluster screen and 10.25-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment central display are standard on the crossover SUV. The digital cluster displays crisp and clear driving data. It also offers customization options and amplifies the overall driving experience of the Hornet.
Multiple 12-volt electrical outlets allow families to travel with a portable projector and transform the Hornet into a mobile movie theater.
Uconnect 5 a is an all-in-one hub for information, entertainment and vehicle controls. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto provide access to music, podcasts, audiobooks and streaming services to keep everyone entertained and engaged during long journeys.
An Amazon Alexa integration uses voice commands for in-vehicle interactions like closing a garage door or starting the car remotely.
The Uconnect 5 can also help plan itineraries by finding trusted travel guides and exciting getaways.
The Hornet’s navigation system delivers turn-by-turn directions and real-time traffic updates to maneuver snow-blocked roads and avoid delays to fun destinations. The features available on the Plus models include full leather seating, ventilated front seats, a premium 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, sunroof and a hands-free power liftgate.
The GT Plus adds three-setting driver memory, wireless charging, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, remote start system and auto-dimming mirrors.
Safety
Dodge Hornet introduces several standard advanced driver-assist systems for the 2024 model year.

The 10.25-inch screen has three new assistance levels with acoustic and visual warnings to reduce parking stress.
Active Driving Assist offers Level 2 semi-autonomous driving features. The system helps drivers control steering, acceleration and deceleration. It uses sensors to identify other vehicles, lane markings and on-road obstacles.
ADS features:
- Intelligent Speed Assist with Traffic Sign Recognition detects the speed limit and gives the driver a one-click option to adjust speeds.
- Driver Attention Assist detects signs of fatigue and alerts weary drivers with a visual and acoustic warning on the cluster.
- Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC) maintains an appropriate speed and distance in stop-and-go traffic.
