2023 Jeep Wagoneer Recognized For Driver Innovation

Grand Wagoneer's front passenger interactive display has earned a "Best of What's New" accolade from Popular Science. The premium SUV also offers a wide range of capabilities that make it a perfect choice for family winter getaways over a variety of terrain.

The Grand Wagoneer offers a multi-functional system which allows front occupants to connect a mobile phone or tablet and uses the display as a mirrored extension of the device. The interactive display can be synced with Wagoneer's instrument cluster, center-consoled touchscreen and horizontal display.

"The Best of What's New awards are our way of celebrating the most exciting and groundbreaking innovations of the year. These awards highlight revolutionary inventions that are helping to improve our daily lives,” said Rob Verger, editor at Popular Science.

Front passenger display offers three significant functions:

  • Co-Pilot (navigation and device management)
  • Entertainment (via HDMI or Amazon Fire TV Built-In with Rear Seat Entertainment control)
  • Panoramic views with exterior and interior cameras

When the vehicle starts, optional Rear Seat Entertainment control, cluster, radio and passenger screens unveil a coordinated animation display.

In park settings, Relax Mode creates an immersive experience by combining multi-screen videos of the world's wonders with ambient lighting across the entire cockpit.

"The "Best of What's New" honor from Popular Science for the front passenger interactive display is third-party validation that we are delivering class-leading technology and connectivity to our customers,” said Jim Morrison, vice president, Jeep.

Under the Hood

Grand Wagoneer encases a twin-turbo Hurricane inline six-cylinder engine that produces 510 hp and 500 Ib-ft of torque.  Active Traction Control detects tire slips in winter weather and takes control to make driving easier.

The Selec-Terrain system includes an Automatic 4 x 4 setting that provides additional torque over icy gravel and smooth braking power down slippery declines.

Snow Mode features a Quadra-Lift Air Adjustment Suspension that raises Wagoneer's ground clearance from eight to 10 inches which helps the jeep avoid body rolls when it encounters  a pile of snow.

Comfort and Convenience

Remote start warms up the engine, defrosts the windshield and triggers automatic climate control for heating the interior before passengers enter the vehicle.

Other cold comfort amenities include a heated steering wheel with heated seating in the first and second rows. The 2023 Grand Wagoneer also has four automatic climate control zones which allows passengers to customize temperatures for cozy warmth.

Spacious seating covers eight passengers, with comprehensive storage solutions available to carry all winter traveling essentials.

In-cabin accessories include Wi-Fi hotspot, Amazon Alexa, satellite radio, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a nine-speaker Alpine audio system and USB ports in all three rows.

Safety

Wagoneer has over 120  features to keep commuters safe  and prevent accidents or road emergencies before they happen.

Base trim technologies for safe winter driving:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking (stops car when occupants are at risk in winter weather)
  • Front and Rear Parking Sensors
  • Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection (tracks movements in foggy winter weather)
