2022 Grand Cherokee Ready To Roll On A Trail Near You

Jeep continues its 80th anniversary celebrations with a special Grand Cherokee rollout that includes a new plug-in hybrid powertrain that introduces electrification to the family SUV.

“Jeep Grand Cherokee is our global flagship and will be leading the Jeep brand into a new era of premium refinement, innovative technology, advanced 4x4 capability and electrification," said Christian Meunier, chief executive officer of the Jeep brand.

Under the Hood

The 2022 Grand Cherokee is powered by a standard 3.6-liter Penstar V-6 engine that generates 293 horsepower and 250 Ib-ft of torque. It is also available in a 5.7-liter V8 engine, which offers 357 horsepower and 390 Ib-ft of torque.

Both engines send power through a TorqueFlite 8-speed transmission that enhances fuel economy and delivers smooth gear changes.

Jeep also delivers a plug-in hybrid powertrain encased in a 17-kWh battery pack and 134-hp electric motor. The system allows the Grand Cherokee cruise up to 25 miles per charge before the gasoline engine kicks in.

The battery pack system includes a dedicated heating and cooling circuit which keeps the battery at optimum temperature.

Comfort & Convenience

Front driver and passenger seats offer massage, heating and ventilation functions with three-level configurable controls.

A 10.1-inch central touchscreen is equipped with Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto, SirusXM satellite radio and complemented with real-time traffic and weather updates.

Twin displays are available for co-pilot and rear end passengers. The 10.25-inch display in the front passenger seat enables the co-pilot assist with navigation, camera viewing or use for entertainment purposes.

The rear seat entertainment screen has in-built Amazon Fire TV for streaming videos, playing games and downloading movies.

Safety

The 2022 Grand Cherokee has more than 110 advanced safety and security features that protect occupants. A 360-degree camera helps negotiate obstacles around the vehicle, while night vision high tech sensors detect pedestrians and animals during nighttime driving.

A full-color, head-Up display works with the Jeep Uconnect system and shows vital vehicular information on the windshield, allowing drivers keep eyes firmly on the road and not be distracted.
