The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid was recognized by Good Housekeeping as the Best Hybrid Minivan. It marks the fourth consecutive honor for Pacifica from the magazine. This makes it the minivan with the most accolades in the last five years.
Once top contenders are identified, Good Housekeeping turns to colleagues at Car and Driver to compare notes on engine performance, cabin comfort, design and on-road safety to determine winners.
“We are looking for vehicles that drive well and make the driving experience as awesome as possible for everyone in the car no matter where you are seated,” said Good Housekeeping Institute writer, Rachel Rothman.
“That means ample space for legs in all rows, good cargo space, easily accessible charging ports, clever storage solutions, comfy and roomy seating and easy to access LATCH systems for car seat installs.”
Chrysler Pacifica is the only minivan offering 80 miles per gallon equivalent to an all-electric range of over 30 miles. This comes down to a total range of 500 miles.
The plug-in hybrid comes with 100 standard safety and security features to keep occupants safe and secure while on the move. This has garnered the family vehicle a 5-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Pacifica seats up to seven passengers. The second-row captain’s chairs allow a child’s seat on either side as well as room for two additional child seats in the third row.
“Stow n’ Go” second row in-floor storage bins create additional space for storing toys, groceries, schoolbooks and more. The “Stow n’ Vac” sorts out the mess young children generate.
